"Can I get eight coffees to go, please?"

Bonus points if you recognize the movie that's from.

Anyway, today was my first ever book signing, done at a Barnes and Noble store ninety minutes (give or take my adherence to speed limits or lack thereof) south of me. All in all it was a lot of fun - me and four other authors were there to sign our books. I went in expecting to maybe sell a couple and actually wound up signing eight copies of The Milkman, most of which were for people I didn't actually know!

A couple of bloggies did stop by to say hi, so here's a shout out to DeAnna from the House of the D and Rebecca (Lady Bronco) the Frustrated Author. It was great to see D again (first time since the Conference) and also to meet the fabulous LadyB for the first time. Word to my peeps, and word to the other authors who sat at the table putting on the charm for passers-by with me: Lise Fuller, Lynda Hilburn, Sharon Silva, and Barb Nickless (for whom I can't find a website - if you have one, drop me a line so I can add it here!). Unfortunately, Laura Hayden (the Queen of the Universe) was unable to join us.

And since my few thousand words would be better spent upon Troubleshooters, here's some pictures to make up the difference.

Lookit! We got us a sign!
Here is our table around which we cheerfully crowded ourselves.
The Damned. I'm the fat one strangely in focus at the left.
Yep, I'm still fat. But I'm happy. And very, very curly.

That's cool!! The only 'rose' among the 'thorns', huh?

Lee said, "Huh. That looks good," which may not sound like high praise, but since I haven't seduced him into reading anything but comic books and Terry Pratchett for a while, it is.

Good to see you again :)

Rachel: What can I say? The camera loves me. LOL

Terra: Hmmm...maybe it would be better to say I was the only thorn among the roses? ;)

Deanna: Woot! I hope he digs it! Heck, I hope you BOTH do.

Travis: Thanks, dude.

LadyB: And the Big Brucie Bonus goes to YOU!

Orhan: I got to sign every copy. Eight signatures, folks. It's like I'm famous or sumthin.

Katherine: Thank you!

Woozie: Word, yo. You cain't run with the big dogs if you ain't got the bitchez. Or some other jive talk that a whitey like me can't manage. :P

Kristen: Yeah, I was as surprised as anybody.

Maleesha: Yanno, now that you've run away to the big urbanosity, the only way you'll get your own copy is to order one off me. Fortunately you can from my website. [ /plug]

CotW: The rapturing all came later after the cameras were shut off. LOL

Writing Muse: Thanks, and it's great to see you back here again!

Odat: Rawk.
