Escape Velocity Press: The Movie

No, it isn't *really* a movie...

...but it is now the trade name of a small (*ahem* VERY small) publishing company in Colorado. Yes, it's official. I paid my fee and registered the name with the Secretary of State. Thanks to mi padre for the link and tip. That's one step closer to the Supersekrit Extra Cheesy Edition of The Milkman. I've also got a few people I'm talking to about potential cover designs, so that's slowly but surely in the works. I'm looking at the following timeline over the next six months or so:

July-August: Finish first draft of Troublemakers. Shouldn't be hard - I'm about 3/4 done already and writing a lot at, uh, work. Only at lunch. I swear. Or when it's really really slow. Have I mentioned it's been really really slow a lot recently?

September-October: Get The Milkman SECE ready to go with special features (including potentially an introduction, some of the choicest reviews from the original edition, a bonus scene or two, and an excerpt from The Milkman 2: Evil Garden Gnome). The goal is to have the book available to purchase before Christmas, because everybody loves to give books as gifts!

November: NaNoWriMo V. Yes, I'm going to try for a fifth straight win. I'll probably do what I did in 2007, that being a good strong start to a longer novel (although I may change my mind at the last minute like I normally do).

December: Focus On The Edit. Do a good edit/rewrite on Troubleshooters. If I have the time and inclination, finish Just Cause: The Archmage.

Wow, I'm going to be busy. And I'm still going to be doing The Adventures of the S-Team during this time, because I also learned something good today: I can legally publish and sell collections of my webcomic without having to first obtain permission from LEGO. So if I can't find a larger publisher to take that on, expect to see some of them available from Escape Velocity Press in 2009, possibly along with at least one and maybe as many as four Just Cause books.

And with my free hand ... I'll drink more coffee. I'm gonna need it...
