Great blog. Of course, by now you have probably discovered that this is not the National Endowment for the Arts’ Big Read but rather one from the U.K. and compiled by the BBC. In its Big Read, the NEA (neabigread.org) provides grants to communities for “one book, one community” programs. I've only read 11 of them, many as assigned reading in school. There are only a few more on the list that I'd like to read, but I'd actually like to re-read the ones I read in school. I think I would appreciate them more now.

Whoa - I am pleased to say I've read 38 of those books. (however - if you were to test me on my remembrance of all of them, I'd have to say I wouldn't pass with flying colors...some of those were read ages ago)
